There is no might. The app stores need to remove the app on day one or face billions in fines per day.
TikTok decided for them it is best to shutdown the app and redirect users to a website informing them why it's shut down.
IMO this is the right move for TikTok as instead of slowly dying and people forgetting about it. By pulling the rug people will be calling congress and demanding their TikTok back. 7 million businesses rely on it and 130 million people use it. That is a lot of pissed constituents.

I saw that, even from the very beginning of this talk, tik tok CEO said they would never sell the business to an USA organization, because they don't want it's tech on their hands.
